Shootingpeople.org - Is it only for London?

Hey there!
Anyone registered to shootingpeople?
I have signed up a few days ago (I'm a cheapskate, and haven't went for full membership yet), but all the posts I've read are from people based in London!

Unfortunatly, it appears to be the same here...

Yeah, I know it's where all the major UK TV/Film and video production companies are based, but does this mean there's nobody left?

I'm in Glasgow, (only 60 miles from edinburugh), and It would appear there's only a very small amount of individuals into filmmaking based here...

Please prove me wrong people!

Anyway, I've ranted enough, and my post is now seriously off topic...

shootingpeople is indeed very **** in the way it is totaly useless to those outside london...

as i remember the only search options you get are "outside london" and the then london based ones... hardly helpful. [img]eek.gif[/img]

as for this place... there are ppl from all over britain aswell as the other inferier countries.

London is the base from where we service the American film industry. The rest of the country just doesn't get the glamour points. Most Americans think Glasgow is 2 miles from London.

yes but if you want a british film industry you need grass roots film making as well as a vibrant film making community up and down the country...how many of our top direcors come from london? not as many as i can think of that come from other parts of the island... and if you are saying you need to move to london before you can meet other film makers then clearly the system is *****cks

how many people who live in Londaon come from London. Like I said, if Mohumed wont go to the mountain, then the mountain has to go to Mohumed.

well like i said... you cant just move to london on the whim of being a film maker... you need to of made stuff already and that means meeting other film makers localy.

I too am a member of Shooting People and its good to know there are people out there in the same struggle as you. If you do join though I will recomend that you buy the "Get your film funded" book at a discount for the s*******. Its a great book that could help some of us raise that bit of money we all need to make that break through film.....Advert ends.
Also some of the debates on the newsletters are bizarre.....
